Andrew focuses on the fact that we may believe in Jesus, but just because we are born again doesn’t mean we’re satisfied with Jesus to fill every area of our life and desires. This is due to the failure to build our lives around Jesus, and what He did for us. We are led by our senses, instead of what the truth is. Christians need to connect with God through the spirit, not through reason. In our spirit we are perfect, and when we sin it cannot contaminate our spirit, but it can make us spiritually dull. Don’t approach God through your flesh and emotions, but approach God in spirit and in truth. Relate to God through the word the way the disciples related to God through Jesus; Jesus is now the living Word.
